Co-editor of "Südosteuropäische Arbeiten" (Southeast European Studies), Co-editor of the "Handbuch zur Geschichte Südosteuropas"(Handbook on the History of Southeast Europe) and editor, with Oliver Jens Schmitt of the"Geschichte Südosteuropas" (History of Southeast Europe). Coordinator of events at the Institute.
From 1997 to 2006 editorial member of staff, "Südost-Forschungen" (Southeast Research) and sporadically member of the editorial team of "Südosteuropa". (Southeast Europe)

President of the Albanien-Institut e.V. (Munich/Vienna) (Albanian Institute), member of the academic consultancy of the Militärgeschichtliche Forschungsamt (Potsdam), (Military History Research Institute), member of the Commission for Southeast European History of ProOriente (Vienna), member of the editorial board of the journal "Anali Hrvatskog politološkog društva" (Anals of the Croatian Political Science Association) (Zagreb).
